3 Tips For Fighting Your Acne
Acne affects countless individuals all the time. Whether you are in your 20s or your 40s, no one wants to deal with a bunch of unsightly blemishes on their face or back. While acne can be a pain, there are things that you can do to help decrease your chances of suffering from a breakout and having the pimples linger around. To better help you understand how to address acne problems, try following some of the simple tips below.
Change out your conditioner.
Do you find that your back is constantly breaking out? If so, it might be your conditioner that is the culprit. Many conditioners contain an ingredient known as panthenol. This ingredient is designed to help strengthen your hair. While this might seem ideal for those who are worried about having brittle hair, that isn't always the case. It can actually end up clogging your pores. As you rinse your hair, all of that conditioner is washing down your back. This can clog the pores and leave you with back acne. Swap out your conditioner for one that doesn't contain Panthenol and exfoliate using a cloth and mild cleanser.
Ditch the bar soap.
Oftentimes, people go with a bar soap because it tends to be the cheaper alternative on the market today. However, bar soaps are held together using a binder that contains a lot of alkaline. This alkaline can end up throwing the natural pH balance in your skin off. It strips down your body's natural oils and causes your skin to end up becoming dehydrated. If your skin is going to stay nice and healthy, it is going to need ample moisture. Dry skin is only going to aggravate acne and make it that much worse.
Spend time talking with a dermatologist.
If you want to get into a more intensive treatment, you should spend some time discussing your options with the dermatologist. They can better evaluate your face and help you determine if there are other more intensive treatment methods that are going to work for you, such as a chemical peel of microdermabrasion.
Just because you have acne now, that doesn't mean there aren't things that you can do to transform your appearance and take control of your skin tone. By being vigilant in your skin care routine and changing things up a little bit, you can ward off acne and prevent it from taking over your skin.
